2025 Smith Foods Track Meet
The 2025 Smith Foods track meet will take place Saturday April 26th at the Orrville High School Track. Cost is $15 and includes shirt. This is for anyone 7 to 12 years old. We will have practice once a week for three weeks prior to the meet. Practices will start Thursday April 10th and then will run every Wednesday after until the track meet from 430 to 530 at the Orrville High School Track. Any questions email bthistlethwaite@oabgc.org. 2025 Volley Nights
Want to improve on your volleyball skills? The Orrville Volleyball Coaches and Team are hosting
VolleyNights! Each night we will focus on volleyball skills and fundamentals to help you improve your
game and have fun! Come for one session or come for them all! Please see the attached flyers. They will have a K-5 group and a 6th & 7th grade group.
2025 OABGC Youth Football Camp (Entering Grades 5-8)
The Orrville Area Boys and Girls Club will host a football camp Saturday May 31st from 10-2. This is for any football players entering 5th-8th grade next school year. Cost is $30. The camp is designed for the kids to have fun and be instructed by former Red Riders. We will have t shirts, food, and prizes for the players. OABGC Wrestling
It was a great month for our OABGC Youth Wrestlers. On January 19th our All Stars competed in Norwayne at the End of the Season All Star tournament. Placing 1st was Joey Kozma, Leo Waitkunas, Andy Stocker, Evan Caskey, Callan Vance Saint, Kaiden Shannon, Bayne Parsons, and Mason Middleton. Placing 2nd was Bronson O’Dell, Jakob Allen, Remington Archer, Luke Harris, Finnegan Teague, AJ Teague, Carter Weisel, Liam Ashby, and Jacob Dalessandro. Placing 3rd was Nolan Ubelhart, Caylee Alexander, Bronx Parsons, Emmett Foster, Brayden Caskey, Jameson Archer, and Lyle Ballard. Placing 4th was Everly Foster, Carter Jones, Gabe Harris, and Christopher Mountz. The Varsity Wrestlers competed January 26th at the OYWA Mid Ohio League meet in West Holmes. The team did very well finishing 7th out of 18 teams. Placing 2nd was Jaxon Thistlethwaite. Placing 3rd was Emilio Mejia, Brayden Erwin, and Michael Hostetler. Placing 4th was Logan Archer, Caysen Erwin, Beau Stocker, and Izaac Bailey. Placing 5th was Brycen Persinger. On February 2nd out Varsity Wrestlers competed in the Wooster Sectionals and moving on to districts were Jacob Childs (5th), Izaac Bailey (2nd), Brycen Persinger (2nd), Beau Stocker (2nd), Michael Hostetler (3rd), Caysen Erwin (4th), Joey Kozma (3rd), Brycen Khongphatthana (5th), Carlos Mejia (5th), Emilio Mejia (2nd), Brayden Erwin (1st), Jaxon Thistlethwaite (1st), and Logan Archer (2nd). The team finished 4th out of 9 teams. This past weekend the boys competed at the OYWA Districts in Barberton. All of the boys wrestled well and several were a win away from qualifying for state. The team finished 12th out of 28 teams. Congrats to our placers Jaxon Thistlethwaite (1st), Brayden Erwin (3rd), and Brycen Persinger (6th). Jaxon and Brayden competed at the OYWA state competition at Glen Oak High School and both placed 5th in their weight divisions. What a great accomplishment for both wrestlers! On March 2nd our wrestling program had 4 wrestlers qualify for OAC State in Youngstown. Logan Archer placed 1st in the Div 3 85lb group, Caysen Erwin placed 5th in the Div 3 95lb weight group and we will wrestle in state as an alternate, Brayden Erwin placed 2nd in the Div 4 80lb weight group and Jaxon Thistlethwaite placed 4th in the Div 4 85lb weight group. Great job by all of our wrestlers! They all faced really good competition and all of the kids have improved a lot over the season.
Softball and baseball open gyms
There will be softball open gyms starting March 2nd on Sundays from 2 to 4 at the multipurpose facility (located behind the high school). This is for 8u-14u softball players. 2 to 330 is for everyone and 330 to 4 is for pitchers and catchers. There will be open gyms for 7th & 8th grade baseball starting Sunday Feb 2nd from 12 to 2. This will run through February and March every Sunday at the Multipurpose Facility located behind the high school. We will start baseball open gyms Saturday March 8 and March 15 from 11-1 at the multipurpose facility. 7-9 yr olds will be 11-12 and 10-12 yr olds will be 12-1.
